CINCINNATI -- Princeton standout forward Darius Bazleywas named the Southwest District Division I Boys' Basketball Player of the Year Friday.

Bazley, a Syracuse signee, is a McDonald's All-American. He was named to the Jordan Brand Classic roster Thursday.

Bazley has helped to lead Princeton (22-3) to the Division I district final against Lakota East (16-8) at 1 p.m. Saturday at University of Dayton Arena.

The all-district awards are based upon the regular season only. The all-state and Mr. Basketball awards will be announced the week of March 19.

Bazley is not expected to play Saturday due to a National Federation of State High School Associations rule that prohibits players leaving a bench during a game.

Bazley and a teammate, senior guard Dominic Pierce, have to sit out the next two tournament games for leaving the bench during the sectional final March 2against Sycamore.

In Division II, Woodward senior forward Terry Durham was named the player of the year. Woodward (16-9) plays Dayton Dunbar (19-4) in a district final at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton. Taft coach Demarco Bradleywas named the Division II district coach of the year.
