SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Moeller senior cornerback/wide receiver Carrington Valentine announced he’s verbally committed to the University of Kentucky.
Valentine, a two-year starter, was named one of the area’s top players to watchfor this upcoming season.
Valentine, listed at 6 feet 185 pounds, took official visits to Pittsburgh, Boston College, Kentucky and Michigan State, according to Moeller coach Todd Naumann. He will play cornerback in college.
"I think UK is a great fit for Carrington," Naumann told WCPO. "Strong academics, great culture and a football program that is really on the rise. Carrington is a big, strong, fast guy that takes pride in his work. He has the physical skills to compete in the SEC."
Valentine also had offers from UC, Duke, Indiana, Miami University and others.

Valentine, a three-star recruit, is rated the state’s No. 25 player overall in the 2020 class by 247 Sports. He is ranked the nation’s No. 76 cornerback in his class by 247 Sports.
Valentine is the second area player to verbally commit to UK from the 2020 class. Fairfield running back JuTahan McClain committed to the Wildcatsin June.

Valentine was a second-team all-Greater Catholic League South division selection in 2018.
"Carrington will have a fantastic senior season for us," Naumann said. "He will play corner (and some receiver) and will use his blend of athletic ability and toughness to impact the game on both sides of the ball. He plays with great attitude and effort, positively impacting his teammates."
Moeller (6-5, 3-0 GCL South in 2018) opens the season against Indianapolis Cathedral Aug. 31 at St. Xavier (7 p.m. kickoff) in the Cincy-Indy Football Challenge.
The NCAA Division I early signing period for football is Dec. 18.
