CINCINNATI (AP) — Historians, authors and a Reds player who made history will highlight a lecture series marking the 150th anniversary of professional baseball's pioneers, the Cincinnati Red Stockings.

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is also partnering with the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum for an exhibit on the history of Cincinnati's pro teams beginning with the 1869 Red Stockings , who are also being celebrated by Major League Baseball this season.

The exhibit runs May 3-July 28.

Saturday afternoon lectures begin May 11 with Reds historian Greg Rhodes and his co-authors John Erardi and Greg Gajus on "Baseball Revolutionaries: How the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings Rocked the Country and Made Baseball Famous." The final lecture is July 20 with Tom Browning, the only Red to pitch a perfect game.
