CINCINNATI -- Good morning, everyone! It’s Wednesday, May 16 -- let’s hear it for hump day!

Here’s some sports news you need to know to get over the hump.

1. Let’s start with a quick quiz. Author Tom Wolfe died on Tuesday at the age of 88.  One of his best-known books was “The Right Stuff.” When the book was made into a movie, which Cincinnati Bengals player had a speaking role?

2. The Reds wrap up their series against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday afternoon. Matt Harvey makes his second start as a Red. The team has Thursday off before starting a weekend series against the Chicago Cubs at Great American Ball Park.

3. LeBron James scored 42 points, but it didn’t matter as the Boston Celtics beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 107-94 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals. That puts the Celtics up 2-0 as the series heads to Cleveland for Game 3. James was lethal in the first half but wasn’t nearly as effective in the second after suffering a neck strain. Jaylen Brown had 23 points for Boston.

4. It’ll be Game 2 in the West on Wednesday night between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Houston needs to win on its home court if it stands any chance in this series.

5. On the ice, Tampa Bay beat the Washington Capitals 4-2 on Tuesday night in the Eastern Conference finals of the NHL. Washington still leads the series 2-1.

6. There’s soccer tonight at Gettler Stadium, the little facility where the University of Cincinnati soccer program plays. It’s the U.S. Open Cup with FC Cincinnati playing against Detroit City of the National Premier Soccer League. The game is already sold out, but it will be streamed on ussoccer.com.

7. The wife of former U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover is facing a domestic violence charge following an altercation after he missed the 54-hole cut at the Players Championship. He hadn’t played well, shooting a 78, and he later told police that his wife often starts arguments when he plays poorly. According to news reports, Krista Glover allegedly got into a spat with her husband, and when his mother tried to break it up, Krista began attacking her. Police say Lucas Glover’s mother had cuts and blood on her arms. When the cop put Krista Glover into the backseat of the squad car, she repeatedly kicked the door, causing some damage, reports said.

8. A golfer from a more genteel era has died at age 95. Doug Ford was the oldest surviving Masters champion and was the PGA player of the year in 1957.

9. Answer to the quiz: Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz was cast as a hospital orderly who would accompany the Mercury 7 astronauts to their tests. His name in the move was Gonzalez. You saw Munoz but you didn’t hear Munoz.:They dubbed in a deeper, gruffer voice in the few lines he had.
