CINCINNATI — Many kids in the Tri-State have a desire to play soccer each year but are sidelined by the cost of cleats.
WCPO 9 and Scripps Howard Fund are teaming up with FC Cincinnati Foundation to help outfit kids with cleats and other equipment.
Starting May 5 and running through May 31, you are encouraged to donate cleats of all sizes by bringing them to your nearest First Financial Bank location.
Then on Thursday, May 22, you can call (513) 840-9276 to donate to our telethon between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
FC Cincinnati Foundation will distribute the donated cleats, and the funds raised will be used to purchase even more cleats for local kids in need.
Last year, the drive raised more than $6,000 in donations, including a $2,500 match from the Scripps Howard Fund, and 150 cleats and shin guards.
You can also donate using the form below. You can also text "Cleats" to 50155.
This campaign is a WCPO 9 initiative in collaboration with the Scripps Howard Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions to this campaign will be used to support the Greater Cincinnati area and are tax deductible.
