CINCINNATI — The FC Cincinnati Foundation helps thousands of local kids play soccer each year. WCPO 9 and the Scripps Howard Fund are partnering with the foundation to outfit kids with cleats.

Starting May 6 and running through May 24, fans were encouraged to donate cleats of all sizes by bringing them to their nearest First Financial Bank location to distribute to area youngsters by FC Cincinnati Foundation.

In the end, the drive raised more than $6,000 in donations, including a $2,500 match from The Scripps Howard Fund, and 150 cleats and shin guards — double the donations received in 2023.

This campaign is a WCPO 9 initiative in collaboration with the Scripps Howard Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization.  Contributions to this campaign will be used to support the Greater Cincinnati area and are tax deductible.
