CINCINNATI — FC Cincinnati continued to round out its inaugural MLS season lineup with the acquisition of Allan Cruz, a midfielder on the Costa Rica national team, the team announced Friday.

Cruz, 22, comes to Cincinnati after six seasons in Costa Rica's top professional division, Liga FPD. He most recently played for Herediano and also played for Uruguay de Coronado from 2013-16.

"We are excited to add Allan to our roster," head coach Alan Koch said. "While he is still a young player, he has already found success on the pitch at both the club and international levels."

Cruz scored five goals and made three assists in 27 appearances during Herediano's 2018-19 winter season. He made his senior international debut in September in a friendly against South Korea, and has played alongside FC Cincinnati center back Kendall Watson in three international matches.
