Norwood PD: Victim shot in head during car theft, car recovered in Westwood

NORWOOD, Ohio — A stolen vehicle has been found in Westwood after a man was shot in the head during a car theft Tuesday morning, Norwood police said.

The shooting happened in the 4000 block of Baker Street just after 1 a.m. Norwood police said the 39-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition. The man's condition has not been updated since the incident occurred Tuesday.

Officers were looking for a dark purple or maroon Cadillac SRX with license plate number JAD 1349, but the vehicle has since been recovered. Norwood Police Sgt. Steven Thomas said the vehicle was discovered at St. James Episcopal Church, located at 3207 Montana Ave.

The car was recognized by a passerby who recognized its make and model from the news, Sgt. Thomas said.

The gunman has still not been identified at this time.

Norwood police is still investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to call 513-458-4520.
