WHITEWATER TWP., Ohio -- A 25-year-old woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when she drove into a stopped dump truck, Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil said.

Rachel Clapp, of Harrison, Ohio, was driving behind the dump truck on westbound U.S. Route 50 at about 2:15 p.m.

James Rowland, the dump truck's driver, stopped as he waited for a train to pass so he could turn into a driveway.

Neil said Clapp hit the dump truck from behind. The Whitewater Township Fire Department took her to Hooven Elementary School so she could be taken by helicopter to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

But, Neil said, the helicopter's medical staff pronounced her dead.

Both she and Rowland were wearing seat belts, Neil said, and investigators don't suspect speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

An earlier version of this story reported the crash occurred in Terrace Park. WCPO regrets the error.
