CINCINNATI -- A group of lucky visitors at the Cincinnati Zoo got a close-up look at baby hippo Fiona and her mom, Bibi, as they made their way around Hippo Cove Tuesday afternoon.

Fiona, the beloved baby hippo born premature at the zoo earlier this year, was up to 317 lbs. as of Tuesday, according to the zoo. After being kept mostly inside as caregivers helped her grow up to a healthy weight, Fiona began exploring the zoo's outdoor habitat more than a month ago.

The zoo has also slowly been introducing Fiona to her parents, hippos Bibi and Henry. She hasn't shared a space with Henry yet, but has met with Bibi outside several times as they did Tuesday.

Fiona doesn't have a set schedule yet for when visitors can see her. She's generally outside for about an hour each day, according to the zoo.
