CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Police said two people are dead after a crash Sunday evening on the 4600 block of Colerain Avenue.

In a press release, CPD said 46-year-old Micah Pitts was driving a Slingshot when he lost control, crossed the center line, and collided with a pickup truck. Pitts was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 36-year-old Darnell Wise, was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he later died.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said none of the people involved in the crash were wearing a seat belt. Investigators also said excessive speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

The crash shut down Colerain northbound at Leeper Avenue and Southbound at Raeburn Drive for more than five hours.
