HAMILTON, Ohio -- A woman said she felt fortunate to be alive after a tree fell on her car while she was inside.

Heavy rain and winds hit Butler County Saturday afternoon as Aillsa Boykins was heading out to get her hair done before her birthday party.

She heard a noise that she thought was thunder, until the tree came crashing down on top of her.

"I'm jolted a bit, but I honestly didn't have a clue what happened to me at that point," Boykins said.

She was able to get out through the passenger door with the help of firefighters.

Boykins will be able to have her birthday party Saturday as planned, but the party will mark more than just the passing of another year.

"Today I'm going to be celebrating something much different, and it's just celebrating life because mine was almost over today," she said.
