For many children, having a bed of their own is something they can count on every night. But some children in Greater Cincinnati are sleeping on floors, in chairs, sharing beds, or sleeping on air mattresses.
Hope to Dream is working with community partners to change that. During the annual Hope to Dream event, 50 children in Greater Cincinnati received new beds. The event had what St. Vincent de Paul’s Kaytlynd Lainhart described as a “Christmas morning” feel as children ran to find beds with their names on them.
The beds came from Morris Home, with blankets and sheets from Standard Textile and stuffed animals from Chick-fil-A of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
The community can help provide more beds during the Hope to Dream telethon on WCPO 9 from 4-7:30 p.m. Aug. 27. A $200 donation can provide a new bed to a family in need, but donations of any amount can help.
