CINCINNATI -- It's one of the most exciting days in Cincinnati: Reds Opening Day! We've been eyeing this forecast for a while, and it does look like we could see some passing showers Monday.
As always, timing is everything!
First, it looks like the morning hours will be dry, but skies should be mostly cloudy. Temperatures begin around 43°F at 7 a.m. and improve to 55°F at lunch as thousands line the streets for the 97th Findlay Market Parade through downtown Cincinnati.
Clouds will build quickly during the day as we get ready for a rain chance. Currently, it looks like spotty showers could begin as early as noon, so plan accordingly for some light rain at the parade. However, heavy rain is not in the forecast currently, and it shouldn't be a washout.
A weak cold front moves through the Tri-State Monday afternoon. This gives us at least a 40 percent chance for rain during the game as well. I know this isn't what we want to hear, but it's been showing up in the weather models for days. Our team will continue to keep an eye on this forecast and the rain timing throughout the weekend, so check back!
