The 9 First Warning Weather Team is issuing a WEATHER ALERT DAY for early morning Monday, Feb. 15, through the following Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Sunday starting at 7 p.m. to Tuesday at 1 p.m. Heavy snow is likely to fall in this time, making travel very difficult if not impossible at times.

Hamilton County Emergency Management issued a similar winter weather watch late Friday, set to expire Tuesday afternoon.

Low pressure tracking out of New Mexico will spread moisture north into the region Monday, interacting with arctic cold temperatures to bring chances for a big snowfall and a wintry mix for Monday into Tuesday.

This storm appears to be as large as our last big snowfall. Unless something abruptly changes, this will be a significant snowfall across the Tri-State. Some areas to the east and southeast may see a wintry mix.
