As you know, we are always looking ahead in the forecast. Today's 9 First Warning is a chance for stronger to severe storms Friday.

As of this morning, the Storm Prediction Center continues highlight our portion of the Ohio Valley for the chance of severe weather Friday. While this isn't a "slight risk" as of yet, it could turn into that starting Wednesday with the Day 3 Outlook. We'll let you know if that happens.

Area being monitored

So what's going on? A stronger area of low pressure will move across the Great Lakes Region, dragging a cold front through our viewing area. This could produce a line of stronger to severe storms late in the day Friday. Damaging winds look to be our main concern.

It's a spring-like system, but behind it, temperatures will plummet as colder air is finally unleashed from Canada.

More to come Tri-State! We are on it.
