Prior to a meeting with American city mayors, President Trump told reporters at the White House that he won't accept deal to fund the government without funds for a border wall.

Democrats, fresh off a political victory of passing a temporary spending bill without funding a wall, are unlikely to provide wall funds in a new spending deal.

Trump's announcement comes less than a week after he ended the longest government shutdown in American history by signing a temporary spending bill that expires in two weeks. That shutdown was also sparked by Trump's insistence that any spending bill must include funds for a border wall.
