Some pretty extreme weather happens during monsoon season in the Desert Southwest.

Thunderstorms rumbled across Arizona, and a weather camera near Phoenix captured a microburst in action.

Microbursts occur when a thunderstorm suddenly collapses, dropping copious amounts of rain and sometimes causing wind damage.
