PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- A Kentucky police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty, according to a news release from the City of Pikeville.
Police Officer Scotty Hamilton, a 12-year veteran of the Pikeville Police Department, was shot and killed Tuesday night. The incident is being handled by Kentucky State Police as a murder investigation, according to the news release.
