AURORA, Ind. -- A man died after a vehicle hit him Thursday night.
The collision occurred at about 10 p.m. on Sunnyside Avenue between Woodlawn Avenue and Hillview Drive in Aurora, police said in a news release.
An officer who responded to the scene recognized the pedestrian as 34-year-old Jason C. Boone, who he had spoken with at about 7:14 p.m. when responding to a report of a suspicious person about a mile away at the corner of Manchester Street and Park Avenue.
The driver told police that he hadn't seen the pedestrian in the middle of the lane and didn't know what he had hit until he stopped and got out of his vehicle.
