CINCINNATI -- Crossroads Church opened its seventh Tri-State location Sunday after 13 months of renovations.

Their Eastgate campus formerly housed Hobby Lobby and Receptions next to Jungle Jim’s. The $20 million in renovations includes a 2,100-seat auditorium, Kids’ Club and student spaces, a chapel, offices and meeting rooms.

Pastor Greg McElfresh called the atmosphere on opening weekend “electric.”

“You know, when you build something like this -- this has been years in the making -- and so for a year now we've just been hoping a weekend in January that people show up, and last night was standing room only … it's amazing,” he said.

Crossroads started in a rental facility in Hyde Park in 1996. Since then, it has grown into a community of 30,000 with 14 locations in Ohio and Kentucky. Crossroads has locations in Corryville, Cleves, Oakley, Mason, Florence and Oxford.
