WEST CHESTER, Ohio -- Krista Ramey was cleaning the bathroom when she noticed her heirloom wedding rings were gone.

Somehow, she had flushed them down the toilet. But a crew from Mr. Rooter Plumbing in West Chester was able to retrieve the rings from the sewer.

"She just happened to notice that her rings weren't there after she flushed the toilet," Mr. Rooter manager Aaron Paul said.

The plumbers were equipped with a sewer camera, which they used to find the rings.

"The way they made them through the toilet out into the main line, you know, if was kind of a 50-50 chance that they were even in there," Paul said.

They dug a hole along the foundation of the home, found the rings with the sewer camera and pushed them forward to scoop them from a nearby manhole.

"I learned my lesson," Ramey said. "Don't ever clear or do dishes, or clean your bathroom, with your rings on."
