The Republican Party's right wing racked up another trophy Friday when House Speaker John Boehner, a West Chester Republican, announced he would quit.
Boehner was a constant focus of conservatives' complaints, and was facing the threat of a floor vote on whether he could stay on as speaker, a formal challenge that hasn't happened in over 100 years.
His resignation is another blow to compromise in Congress, our cartoonist says.
