BYRAM, Miss. -- Nobody's going to steal Christmas from this boy!
Five-year-old TyLon Pittman heard the Grinch was going around ruining the holidays, so he called 911 on Saturday to protect his family, USA Today reports.
Listen to the 911 call in the audio player below.
Byram Police Officer Lauren Develle went out of her way to let the tiny tyke know she wouldn't let anybody steal his Christmas.
"Our dispatcher posted a status on Facebook that she had received a call from a little boy ... and he told her he thought the Grinch was going to be coming to steal his Christmas," Develle told USA Today. "I asked her to send me his address."
Develle arrived at their home looking like an adult Cindy Lou Who with a badge.
"I want y'all to come back to my house and take him to jail," TyLon said when Develle asked him what she should do if the Grinch showed up.
Surprisingly, he did appear just two days later, and honorary junior officer TyLon got to help Develle apprehend the monster and ship him off to a holding cell.
Taking the boy's hand in a handshake, the Grinch told TyLon, "You have saved Christmas for the people of Byram. Your bravery is unmatched. You have saved the day."
