With 7.3 billion humans currently on earth, United Nations' data estimates that we could reach 8.5 billion by 2030 and 9.7 billion in 2050.

Geography blog GEOstata posted a map showing the world's population density represented without country borders to Reddit on Sunday, attracting hundreds of comments.

An interactive version is available online here. It's intriguing to scroll around to see how various areas of the Tri-State compare to our neighboring states. The maps also reveals just how intensely packed India and China are and how vastly unpopulated Australia appears to be.
