Ed Sheeran to guest star on 'Game of Thrones' season 7

If you’re a fan of “Game of Thrones” and a fan of singer Ed Sheeran, you’ll certainly be a fan of this: You get a two-in-one deal.
Sheeran will reportedly be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming “Game of Thrones” season 7. According to CBS News, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed the news Sunday at an SXSW panel.
The panel was reportedly moderated by Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, two of the series’ stars.
“For years, we tried to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie, and this year we finally did it,” Benioff said, according to CBS News,
It wasn’t immediately clear how the "Shape of You" star would contribute to the narrative of the seventh season, which premieres July 16.
The news follows reports that the eighth and final season of the fanatical series would consist of only six episodes.
