CINCINNATI -- On Monday, 410 local high school students donated their hair to help women fighting cancer.
The women of Seton High School and some community members gathered for a simultaneous haircut and donated their ponytails to Pantene Beautiful Lengths , the only program to make free, 100 percent human hair wigs for cancer patients.
To date, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has donated 42,000 real-hair wigs to the national American Cancer Society Wig Bank, according to Pantene's website.
Pantene Beautiful Lengths's #8or8 campaign asks women to donate eight inches of hair or $8 in response to requests for alternative ways to donate to the program, according to Proctor and Gamble , Pantene's parent company.
