Two women died Thursday while in the custody of local law enforcement.
One inmate -- Samantha Young of Cincinnati -- died at the Butler County jail Thursday, according to the coroner's office. Young, 21, hanged herself in the facility on Hanover Street.
Young was in jail charged with violating probation. A report from WCPO news partner WHIO said Young "had been involved in an altercation with another inmate sometime before the suicide."
Young was found around 2:20 p.m. Thursday. She had been in the jail since Jan. 14.

“This is a tragedy. Our condolences go out to the family,” Lt. Rick Bucheit said of Young's death.
A death investigation is still pending for the second woman who died Thursday; she died while in police custody at a medical facility, Maj. Brett Richardson told the Journal-News Friday.
Richardson said the female inmate became ill Tuesday and was taken to a medical center for care on Wednesday.
Richardson did not disclose the inmate's name or age, but said the death was "suspected to be from natural causes."
