MASON, Ohio -- The biggest firework displays of the holiday are still to come, but crowds in Mason got a taste Monday night at Red, Rhythm and Boom. The yearly celebration provided -- well, exactly what it promised.
Singer Phillip Phillips served the rhythms, and fireworks brought the boom.
Mark Carnevale, who has attended the celebration with his wife, Kate, since 1989, said it was "great" to see the crowds of people who attended.
"It's so fun," Kate Carnevale said. "There is so much energy; there are so many people here."
