SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — After a lengthy standoff Monday afternoon, SWAT officers found a male stabbing suspect dead inside a Springfield Township home Monday evening.
Officers arrived in the 10,000 block of Toulon Dr. around 11:30 a.m. for a report of a stabbing in the area. A female victim was found in the area suffering from multiple stab wounds. That victim was transported to University Hospital, and her condition is unknown at this time.
The suspect, 47-year-old Andre Simpson, barricaded himself in a residence and refused to surrender himself to police.
After attempting to make contact with Simpson for several hours, SWAT made entry into the residence and found Simpson dead from self-inflicted wounds.
The investigation is still ongoing.
