READING, Ohio — A 71-year-old man died Thursday afternoon when the garage he was remodeling collapsed on top of him, according to 911 calls and news releases from the City of Reading Police Department.
Tony Kirby, 71, became trapped under a pile of rubble around 4:15 p.m. Despite Reading firefighters’ successful attempts to extricate him, Kirby died at the scene.
Reading police, firefighters and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office are still investigating the collapse.
