LOVELAND, Ohio - This neighborhood is on edge after a woman spotted a peeping tom lurking in the bushes under her neighbor's bathroom window.
Quay Oaks said the mom and teenage daughter were inside getting ready for the day. She said she stared at the man and he stared right back.
"I was coming out of my house to put my children into the car to leave and I looked over at my neighbor's house and there was a male standing underneath their window and when he saw me he stopped," Oaks said. "I was looking directly at him so I got my kids in the car and I locked the car and he took off running.
"When we saw each other, he kind of ducked down a little bit more, but I could clearly see him. It felt like an eternity but we stared at each other for probably seconds."
Neighbors like Leisa Schnell are angry at the thought.
"It's disgusting. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it," Schnell said. 'You can't leave your house without worrying who's going to be at your house. You can't take a shower without wondering if somebody's looking inside your window.
"It's not right. You shouldn't have to live like that," she said.
Loveland police chief Dennis Rahe said they were unable to catch the man, but he had advice for neighbors.
"Just call if you see something out of place," Rahe said. "Sometimes there's criminal activity going on, often times there's not (and) there's just a simple explanation. But part of our job is to go out and investigate and find out if there's something else going on."
Oaks said the incident really put her on edge this week.
"I have prepared myself. I bought pepper spray. I bought a Taser. Just in case."
