LOVELAND — There are few businesses that have not had to make creative, even drastic, changes to how they operate during the coronavirus pandemic.

In Loveland, Delish in a Dish catering is going back to its roots.

Delish in a Dish was born in 2012, serving frozen meals from a drive-thru window. Now that window could be what keeps Traci Talbott's business alive.

"We decided that we needed to take a new avenue and decided frozen meals were the way to go," Talbott told WCPO.

Things started changing weeks ago as word of the severity of the coronavirus spread - and everything seemed to stop on March 12. That's when Ohio Governor Mike DeWine banned gatherings of more than 100 people.

"We've had weddings, we've had Easter events, graduations, baby showers ... for the next two months that have all had to cancel," she said. "This is what you do when you have a small business; you get creative and figure out a new avenue."

So, it's back to the drive-thru - and using social media to get the word out about menus and hours.

The menu changes each week, but Talbott said one item remains popular – and it was a mainstay during the catering days, too.

"Beef brisket," she said. "It's something that most families don't make at home."

Each frozen meal, picked up from the Delish in a Dish drive-thru on Montgomery Road, serves two.

Talbott is hoping to serve enough to survive until events are safe and allowed again.
