GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A former Bridgetown Middle School student has been arrested and evening activities were canceled Wednesday night after the student's mother reported concerns with what her son had posted on Facebook.

A mother reported her son had photos on Facebook holding a hunting rifle and that she didn't know where he was. School officials posted on Facebook Wednesday evening that police arrested the former student on the Bridgetown campus.

Green Township Police Chief Bart West officers arrested 17-year-old Seth Fields for obstructing official business and resisting arrest, as police say he tried to run and was captured again. They did not find a gun on his person and are not certain whether he ever had a gun throughout the incident Wednesday.

Fields was also taken into custody for seven outstanding charges from juvenile court including theft, carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of obstructing official business and violating a court order, police said.

The school was evacuated as the police apprehended the student.

Parents have been expressing their gratitude overnight for the mom's quick thinking and the school's expedient communication. One woman commented that she received an automated call informing her of the incident as well.
