CINCINNATI — A man wanted for the murder of a 28-year-old in Over-The-Rhine earlier this month is now behind bars after surrendering to police Wednesday afternoon, Cincinnati police said.

The shooting happened at about 10:40 p.m. near Back and Hamer Streets on June 6, where police found Dondre Kelsor shot. Police said a "disorderly crowd" prevented first responders from getting to Kelsor quickly.

At 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, 37-year-old Demetrius Lowery surrendered to CPD on a murder warrant. He is currently being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $500,000 bond.

The investigation by the CPD's Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (513) 352-3542.
