WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A motorcyclist died in a three-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 75 Monday morning, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 3:41 a.m. between Interstate 275 and Union Centre Boulevard. A preliminary investigation revealed a 35-year-old man driving a 2008 Acura hit the rear of a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 51-year-old Timothy Sharp, troopers said.

The Butler County coroner pronounced Sharp dead at the scene.

The driver of the Acura wasn't injured. Troopers didn't immediately say whether any criminal charges would be filed.

The coroner's office ruled Sharp's death to be accidental.

The crash remains under investigation.
