CINCINNATI — Cincinnati police have arrested a man they believe is connected to numerous rape cases dating back to 1995.

CPD arrested 62-year-old Stoney Brown on Saturday on 11 counts of rape, four counts of kidnapping and four counts of burglary. He is currently being held at the Hamilton County Jail. A judge set Brown's bond at $4 million Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators believe Brown is the "John Doe" indicted in 2008 court documents that describe DNA evidence left at the scene of the attacks in 1995 and 1996.

Investigators have not said how they linked Brown to the DNA of "John Doe," but Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters told WCPO officials are running Brown's DNA through the national CODIS database to see if it matches other unsolved rape cases. They believe there could be more victims.

WCPO has chosen to use a mugshot in this story because officials believe there could be additional victims. Read more about our mugshot policy here.
