CINCINNATI — An early morning fire in Evanston displaced one adult and five children Sunday, fire officials said.
Cincinnati Fire crews responded to the 1600 block of Jonathan Avenue at about 12:45 a.m. Officials said flames from the second-floor window were visible, and a second alarm was requested to battle flames in the attic walls.
People on the scene told crews there were children inside the building, and firefighters began searching the home. Family members later arrived and confirmed that the children were not inside when the blaze started.
No injuries were reported. Fire officials estimate the blaze caused $50,000 in damage.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
