CINCINNATI -- A thoroughfare for Cincinnati's West Side will be closed through Wednesday after a landslide.
Elberon Avenue was shut down in both directions Tuesday, from Mount Hope Avenue to Purcell Avenue.
The road, climbing from the Mill Creek Valley into East Price Hill, is the site of landslides each spring. Greater Cincinnati's soil composition and past development practices have left many miles of roadway affected by hillside movement, especially when the ground is saturated.
Motorists are being detoured via Mount Hope north to Price Avenue and back to Elberon. Detour signs are posted.
Crews are being scheduled to remove trees and mud that have spilled onto the road.
