CINCINNATI -- Thousands of people are celebrating Turkey Day on the go at the 107th annual Western and Southern Thanksgiving Day race Thursday morning.

The race kicked off at 9 a.m. Thursday with a course winding through Downtown, Newport and Covington before returning to the finish line at Paul Brown Stadium. About 17,000 people took part in the 10-kilometer race in 2015. 

Drivers will see lots of road closures from 9 a.m. until at least 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Intersections and lanes will be closed on Second, Vine and Liberty streets, Central Parkway and Eggleston Avenue in Cincinnati; the Taylor Southgate Bridge and Clay Wade Bailey Bridge; Third, Monmouth and Fourth streets in Newport; and Fourth Street in Covington. 

Organizers accepted last-minute, in-person registrations from 7 to 8:59 a.m. Thursday at Paul Brown Stadium before the starting gun rang out. Find more information at the website here.
