CINCINNATI -- A federal judge sentenced a Cincinnati man to 10 years in prison Thursday for selling opioids.

Dexter Wright, 37, sold a mix of heroin, fentanyl and carfentanil, authorities said.

Investigators purchased 8.6 grams of the mixture from Wright through a series of undercover transactions between November 2016 and January 2017, according to court documents.

Wright pleaded guilty last year to distributing controlled substances.

"There is no such thing as an insignificant amount of fentanyl or carfentanil," U.S. Attorney Benjamin Glassman said in a news release. "Even a tenth of a gram causes death and destruction. Traffickers should expect to be prosecuted federally and to receive still sentences."
