3 Cincinnati men charged with first-degree murder in death of Colorado man

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Three Cincinnati men arrested in August in Illinois are now being held on first-degree murder charges in connection to the death of a man from Fort Collins, Colorado, according to 9 On Your Side's sister station KMGH.

Michael Gresham, Lawrence Greggs and Joshua Baker, all 20 years old and from Cincinnati, were arrested by authorities in Vermilion County, Illinois, on Aug. 27 on unrelated charges when they were stopped for a traffic violation.

All three are accused in the murder of Devon Smeltz, 20, of Fort Collins. Smeltz was reported missing by his family on Aug. 26. His body was discovered Sept. 3 in Morgan County, Colorado.

Authorities in Colorado's Larimer County issued warrants Monday in connection to the murder. The three suspects remain in custody in Illinois.
