New gaming conference, trade show, tournament coming to Greater Cincinnati in 2019

BLUE ASH, Ohio -- A new gaming conference, trade show and tournament called PiviP is coming to the Tri-State in spring 2019, so its organizers are throwing an announcement party on April 21 to get ready.

The PiviP announcement party will feature the following activities at Blue Ash's Envision Cinemas:

  • A free tradeshow (11a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • A free cosplay contest (11a.m. to 4 p.m.) – winner announced at 4 p.m
  • A free conference with sessions about various aspects of the gaming industry (11a.m. to 3:45 p.m.)
  • A free meet and greet with online personalities Brian Wade (LordMinion777) and Bob Muyskens (3:45 to 4:30 p.m.)
  • A Movie Binge-A-Thon featuring Scott Pligrim vs. The World, Warcraft and Rampage with popcorn and free refills on drinks (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) - $20 ticket, $25 ticket day of
  • A Hearthstone tournament (11 a.m. to 10 p.m.) - $5 entry fee, $10 entry fee day-of
  • Free tournament viewing on the big screen (4:30 to 10 p.m.)

“Esports and the video game community are growing like nothing I’ve ever seen before,” said co-founder Bill Donabedian. “It will be exciting to bring this kind of energy to the Greater Cincinnati area next year.”

AllMid, an esport event organizer, will be powering the PiviP announcement party.

“Having hosted dozens of gaming events, we’re excited to help launch what could be one of the biggest gaming events in the country,” said Allmid CEO Chris Postell.
