CINCINNATI — A man was seriously injured Saturday in a crash involving a motorcycle in downtown Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Police Department said.

Police said that officers were dispatched to the intersection of W. Court Street and Race Street shortly after 9 p.m.

They found that a man, who has not been identified, was operating a motorized minibike east of W. Court Street, and a 59-year-old man was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe west on W. Court Street.

The driver of the Tahoe attempted to make a left turn on Race Street and was struck by the man on the motorized minibike.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to UC Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Neither the driver of the Tahoe nor their passenger were injured in the crash.

Police said at this time that impairment and speed do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash.

Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Cincinnati police's Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
