WEST CHESTER, Ohio -- On Wednesday, students and staff at Hopewell Elementary maneuvered through an active shooter drill -- and they weren't just going through the motions.

West Chester Township and Lakota Local Schools conducted a "realistic shooter drill" at the school, where participants mimicked the real wounds and emotions of a school shooting.

Students were carried from the school, crying, with fake blood-stained shirts. Teachers limped out of the school, gripping wounded shoulders and arms. Deputies made calls, corralled students and staff in the front lawn, and safely captured the "shooter."
