HAMILTON, Ohio -- After previously pleading not guilty, former Miami Township (Montgomery County) Finance Director Harry Steger, 49, pleaded guilty to sexual contact with pre-teen children Thursday.
Steger changed his plea to guilty of one count of gross sexual imposition and one count of attempted gross sexual imposition after Butler County Common Pleas Court Judge Keith Spaeth chose to allow Steger’s statements to detectives to be used at trial.
The West Chester Twp. resident faces up to six-and-a-half years in prison if he receives the maximum sentence.
According to the Butler County grand jury’s indictment, Steger was involved in sex acts with children less than 13 years old from May 1, 2014, to May 18, 2015. He was arraigned on seven felony charges of gross sexual imposition in August 2015. Sentencing is scheduled for March 3 before Judge Spaeth.
