OXFORD, Ohio -- While freshmen students and parents were busy moving into residence halls on Miami University's campus Thursday, an armed man robbed the First American Loans across town on College Corner Pike, Oxford police say.
They're now seeking the public's help in identifying the black male wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and tan baseball cap who they say robbed the business at gunpoint around 12:11 p.m. Thursday before escaping in a silver sedan.
The employee who called 911 told police the man fled out the back door of the store. Officers unsuccessfully attempted to track the man with a K-9 unit. Nearby Kramer Elementary and the McGuffey Montessori School were advised of the situation and encouraged to enact safety procedures.
