MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Middletown K9 officer Chase has a new “sister.”

Chase, a German Shepherd that was brought into the department last year, has a new “sister pup” named Coco, according to the department’s Facebook page.

According to the post, police are often asked if K9s go home with their handlers, and the answer is yes.

“The current handlers also have, or have had, their own family dogs before their duty dog arrived. In some cases, their presonal pets are still the dominant pet in their home pack.”

Photos show K9 Chase smelling and cozing up to a tiny puppy.

“We don’t know if little Coco will end up running the show or not,” the post says.
