Hamilton's Amelia Hundley finishes 9th at USA Gymnastics Olympic Trials

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Hamilton resident Amelia Hundley finished ninth Sunday at the USA Women’s Gymnastics Olympic Trials in San Jose, Calif., The Journal-News reports.

Hundley, who trains at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy in Fairfield, totaled 58.85 in the all-around on Sunday. Her two-day total was 116.85.

Hundley, 18, is headed to the University of Florida this fall.

Simone Biles (123.25) won the all-around and an automatic berth on Team USA for next month’s Olympics in Rio. Her four teammates, decided by a selection committee, are Laurie Hernandez, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas and Madison Kocian.
