Coroner identifies man killed in Fairfield Twp. house fire

FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Butler County Coroner has identified the man who died in a house fire in Fairfield Twp. Saturday as 53-year-old Robert Tuttle Jr.

The cause of death is still pending investigation.

Fairfield firefighters and medics responded to the 200 block of Parrish Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. for a large house fire. A second company was called in to assist with the blaze shortly after.

Fire officials said Tuttle was found dead in a front room, where the fire originated. No one else was home at the time of the fire, according to officials.

According to Fairfield Twp. fire chief Timothy Thomas, a firefighter was also transported to a local hospital during the fire. Thomas said the firefighter was sent to be checked out, and will be fine.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Officials have not yet identified the victim.
