HAMILTON, Ohio — A former Butler County corrections officer pleaded guilty to charges related to bringing illegal items into the county jail.

Brandon Moore, 34, of Hamilton, pleaded guilty to charges of bribery and illegal conveyance, WCPO news partner the Journal-News reported Friday. Other charges against Moore were dismissed.

Butler County authorities previously said Moore brought cellphones, tools and protein powder into the jail in exchange for money.

The sheriff's office hired Moore in September 2017. He was a probationary corrections officer and fired when the investigation began, the Journal-News reported.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 28. He faces up to 36 months in prison.
